  1. I start to feel better and then something like this comes along and I’m tears again.

    You’re right, Richard, that she was as close to a mother as we had left as a nation, and now she’s gone and we’re a long way from home. Still, we cannot give up; even if her lifetime of work is eclipsed by the effrontery of a ramrodded new justice. An eclipse, after all, is brief: the light remains.
